Setsuna Meiou is is the civilian identity and present-day incaranation of Sailor Pluto.
As Sailor Pluto, she guarded the Space-Time Door, and she originally could not leave her post, which left her very lonely. However, Neo Queen Serenity allowed her to leave her post to help the other Senshi of the Outer Solar System during the events of the S season, and she was reincarnated as an adult in the present time during the Death Busters arc, where she took on the identity of Setsuna Meiou, a University student studying physics.
Setsuna dreamed of being a designer one day. She was good friends with Chibiusa and Diana, and was also very close to Hotaru Tomoe after the end of the Death Busters crisis. Setsuna became part of an adoptive family with Haruka, Michiru, and Hotaru when they took up residence together.

Something that makes my heart ache terribly for not remembering. There are echoes in the back of my mind... echoes that haunt me... that call out to me. Lost echoes of time... the feeling of urgency... of desperation... then of despair... of anguish... of... sadness. And my heart tells me... that this voice is someone... someone I had promised never to forget... that I loved and cherished and would always protect. I then came to the realization that while I was willing to pay any price, it wasn't just me alone who had to pay. He... also... had to pay. Whoever you are... I'm sorry... Beginning Storyline:
The guardian of time, Sailor Pluto. Her sworn duty given to her by Queen Serenity was to protect the gates of time.
However when the threat of the Messiah of Silence arose, she came to the present day to aid her comrades in the battle.
Remaining in the present day, she took on the identity of Setsuna Meiou while her, Haruka Tenou and Michiru Kaioh raise young Hotaru Tomoe.
However, it wasn't long before another threat would arise and would be forced to act.

Sailor Pluto:
"We're both here on business it seems. However, because this is a Sailor Guardian affair, your pursuit of that boy is over. His threat was against us, therefore it is our matter to deal with."
Cross Meiou:
"Shut up! This is more than just about you Sailor bastards!"
Sailor Pluto:
"Unfortunately, after gathering information about this boy, his plans and what his next moves are, he is very much our problem and we will deal with him as such. Stand down before harm comes to you, brother."
Cross Meiou:
"I won't stand here and let you continue to belittle me! It's time we settle this, Pluto!"
Sailor Pluto
"This matter was settled long ago, brother. But if it's a fight you're after, then come!"
[after the battle]
Cross Meiou:
"D-damnit..."
Sailor Pluto:
"Stay your hand. You've made your point."
Cross Meiou:
"What point? That I can lose to you? We already knew that..."
Sailor Pluto:
"You've found something to fight for other than yourself, Epoch. I cannot blame you for doing such a thing, but I recommend you stop in your efforts now. You no longer have the energy to combat the boy, especially if he's set on bringing back the Dark Kingdom."
Cross Meiou:
"...! What?! He's bringing back the Dark Kingdom?! So that's what he meant with his threat..."
Sailor Pluto:
"Rest easy, Epoch. The Sailor Guardians are already in action to stop this boy."
Destined Battle: Michael Mizuno X
Michael Mizuno X:
"...Pluto."
Sailor Pluto:
"It's you... the anomally. When did you return from exile?"
Michael Mizuno X:
"Sailor Venus told me. So you're after the boy."
Sailor Pluto:
"...you already know what he plans on doing."
Michael Mizuno X:
"And that's why I can't allow a Sailor Soldier, especially a merciless Outer to interfere when I go to face him. You'll kill him because of his association with the Dark Kingdom but you truly don't know him..."
Sailor Pluto:
"Are you really going to waste time by fighting me, Michael-kun? Is it not enough that this boy seeks to revive our most evil of enemies?"
Michael Mizuno X:
"So, let's just wipe him out without understanding what's really going on, right? Drastic measures should be a last resort yet you Outers use it as a first strike. I expected more from you of all people, Pluto!"
Sailor Pluto:
"If you know something about this enemy that the rest of us don't, then you had better tell me now!"
Michael Mizuno X:
"No, I rather fight you to prove you're not ready to face the challenge that's up ahead! And once that's done, I'll confront the boy myself!"
Sailor Pluto:
"You're going to regret this, Michael-kun."
[after the battle]
Michael Mizuno X:
"..."
Sailor Pluto:
"Why? Why were you hesitating?"
Michael Mizuno X:
"...the boy is more than what he seems. Yes, he's Queen Beryl's son... but the other half..."
Sailor Pluto:
"Other half?"
Michael Mizuno X:
"Prince Endymion... is the other half. I don't know how they were able to conceive a child because I definitely don't remember him and Beryl being that close back then."
Sailor Pluto:
"The King... and Beryl. This... this cannot be..."
Michael Mizuno X:
"It's the truth... when you look into his eyes... when you feel his energy... he feels like both of them. Heh... I'm glad I told you this now, Pluto. It's not just a simple kill him and mission accomplished... Just remember, Pluto... he is a BOY. Not a man. A BOY. Remember that..."
Sailor Pluto:
"I'll remember. Now tell me why you fought as you did... I know you're far swifter and stronger than you were letting on..."
Michael Mizuno X:
"My chest hurt. That's all."
Sailor Pluto:
"...I suppose you're not going to tell me..."
Michael Mizuno X:
"I think you've wasted enough time, Pluto. Go after the boy or we're all dead!"
Sailor Pluto:
"..."
[After Pluto leaves...]
Michael Mizuno X:
"Time's scar... runs deep..."
Final Boss: Sethos Beryl
Sethos Beryl:
"Of course it's you..."
Sailor Pluto:
"There's no need for speeches, boy. Cease the execution of this plan or any others with the intention of bringing back the Dark Kingdom and maybe you'll see another day beyond this one."
Sethos Beryl:
"As if I would listen to a band of murderous slaves like you Sailor Senshi who grovel at the feet of a deceitful moon pig like Princess Serenity. I'm bringing back something you never had or will ever know what the feeling is like to have it -- family!"
Sailor Pluto:
"You're wrong, son of Beryl! The Sailor Guardians are my family!"
Sethos Beryl:
"Ha! Some family! They leave you alone to guard the gates of time and only call on you to aid them in times of a crisis! They make you follow a set of strict rules yet refuse to let you have any companions there with you?"
Sailor Pluto
"It is my sworn duty to protect the timeline and preserve the livelihood of the royal family and their guardians! I am honored to accept such a charge!"
Sethos Beryl:
"This is why you're a damn puppet, Pluto! And a hypocrite! If the roles were reversed, if I was trying to stop you from bringing back the royal family from the abyss, you'd be doing the same!"
Sailor Pluto:
"It seems like words will not be enough to persuade you into changing your course of action. Very well. Then there's only one option left. Come forth, son of Queen Beryl! For now you face the Sailor Guardian who's protected by the cold hand of Pluto!"
Sethos Beryl:
"I'm going to enjoy squeezing the life out of your miserable body!"
[after the battle]
Ending: "Mirror's Reflection"
[Sailor Pluto hits Seth multiple times with her Garnet Rod, twirling the weapon around before knocking the sword from the boy's hand and finally landing a swift blow to his head, causing him to hit the ground hard]
Sailor Pluto:
"Stand down, boy. You're beaten. Resist no further."
Sethos Beryl:
"We both know... I won't do that..."
[Seth looks up at Pluto with a glazed look from the head trauma with blood rolling down the side of his lips]
Sethos Beryl:
"You better just kill me now and get it over with. You... Outers were always so blood thirsty and merciless... just do it. Kill me or I won't stop in bringing back my mother so she can have revenge for what father and the lot of you did to her!"
[Pluto twirls her rod again and points it down at Sethos. As she's about to call out an attack to obliterate the boy, she makes eye contact with him. While the boy's words felt so sincere and fearless, his body was shivering. Not from pain, but from fear. His eyes had the same fear in them but... another thing Pluto noticed. Michael was right. The boy's face, so much like his father's... The King. She then slowly lowered her weapon and closed her eyes, turning her head slightly]
Sailor Pluto:
"It is true that we Outer Guardians tend to behave more rashly than our Inner counterparts, but... do not mistake our overly cautious behavior as a weakness. We protect the Princess all the same."
Sethos Beryl:
"Give me a break... don't act so damn self righteous... the fact that your Princess is still a pig and stole my father from my mother still means you're on the wrong side!"
Sailor Pluto:
"Your mother? Queen Beryl? Stole Endymion? It seems you've gotten some facts mixed up, boy. The one who was brain washed and kidnapped was Endymion after we were all reorganized back on Earth. The Princess loved him and he loved her. Your mother loved him too but it was not returned... his heart belonged to the Princess. Your mother, however..."
Sethos Beryl:
"Shut up! You're lying! That isn't true!"
Sailor Pluto:
"Not true? I am the guardian of time, young man, I can promise you I speak honestly. However, if words alone will not convince you, you should know the truth through me..."
[Sailor Pluto then raises her Garnet Staff as memories of the past flash into Seth's mind. The boy cried out to stop as the memories invaded his mind rapidly. When finding out the circumstances of his birth, he eventually fell forward in despair, crying heavily]
Sailor Pluto:
"I realize the truth is not an easy thing to accept, but clearly you were mislead. It seems Michael-kun was right about you... it would have been easy to vanquish you, but you were just as victimized by Queen Beryl as anyone of us... maybe more so seeing as you are her son..."
Sethos Beryl:
"...what hope is there now...? I'm alone... I'm so alone..."
[Pluto looks down on the boy, a solemn frown on her lips as she recalled everything. She saw the boy's loneliness... the many tears she shed in her youth in sadness, in solitude, in loneliness. It was just like the boy's. Placing a hand on his head, she began petting him gently, much like she does when she was comforting Hotaru after a bad dream.]
Sailor Pluto:
"It's okay, little one. I promise you'll be well taken care of."
[Pluto soon leaves with Seth as the screen fades to black]
[A shot of Seth, Hotaru and Setsuna is seen as Setsuna is putting down a hot tray]
Sailor Pluto
"It's a very well kept secret that I harbor strong romantic feelings for Neo King Endymion. Revisiting the memories of the Moon Kingdom and seeing Queen Beryl's fall from grace actually frightened me. Sadness is such a strong emotion. It's the polar opposite of happiness. It's also a few notches from hatred and as I recalled the sadness that changed into hatred when Queen Beryl joined the Dark Kingdom... that could have been me. This boy... he is Small Lady's half brother and being Endymion's son, I want to make sure he's well protected. That's when I brought him to Toma who helped provide housing and education for the boy. He'll be going to Neo Infinity Academy with Hotaru. I'm relieved to hear that as many eyes will be able to keep a watch over him and since he's already friends with Hotaru, this will be much easier... perhaps I should have him over for lunch? I'm sure Hotaru would enjoy that..."
